Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev (November 9, 1818 - September 3, 1883) - Russian writer, poet, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1860). Ivan Turgenev was born on November 9, 1818 in Orel.
Father - Sergey Nikolaevich, a retired cuirassier colonel. Mother, Varvara Petrovna Lutovinova, came from a fairly wealthy noble family.
